For years, the people of Nabuganda village in Kenya have lived with the daily burden of finding clean and reliable drinking water. Women and children have often had to walk long distances and spend valuable hours searching for water, while families have depended on unsafe and unreliable sources. The struggle has affected household health, dignity, school attendance and the ability of families to devote their time to productive work.
The need was not simply for another water point—it was for a dependable source of safe water that could serve the community for years to come. In June 2026, that long-standing prayer began to receive a remarkable answer when God moved Rev. David Brewer and his team to support the drilling of a water well at Nabuganda Primary School.
The project brought together a partnership of faith, technical expertise and community participation. David Brewer Ministries, TICCN and Wellboring.org joined hands to make the project possible. Their support provided the resources and technical capacity needed to locate, drill, test and develop the groundwater source, while local leaders and residents welcomed the project and participated in the process.
Before the drilling began, Bishop Jacob prayed over the ground-breaking, committing the project and the people of Nabuganda to God. What followed was a significant engineering undertaking: the Wellboring drilling rig was brought to the site and drilling commenced. The sight of the rig at work represented more than construction—it was a visible sign that the community’s water crisis was being confronted with practical action.
From drilling to transformation
As drilling progressed, the community watched with anticipation. When the borehole was test-pumped, water flowed from beneath the ground, confirming the promise of a sustainable new source. Wellboring engineers carried out the testing and the project proceeded toward development of the water supply system.
The completed installation includes a solar-powered water tower designed to lift and store water for distribution. By harnessing solar energy, the system can provide water without depending on a conventional electricity supply, making it particularly appropriate for a rural community. The elevated storage also enables water to be delivered at useful pressure to the collection point.
The most powerful evidence of the project’s impact is now visible in the faces and actions of the people of Nabuganda. Women and children can collect water with greater ease, while boys who once faced the same challenge can now access water closer to home. Time that was previously consumed by the search for water can increasingly be redirected toward school, household responsibilities, farming and other productive activities.
This new well is therefore more than infrastructure. It is a testimony of what can happen when prayer, compassion, community leadership and technical expertise come together. For Nabuganda Primary School and the surrounding village, the water well represents health, dignity, opportunity and hope.
